Go to Stevens Genforum for original seeker person.
I'm searching for the parents/siblings of Amasa T. Stevens, b. April 15, 1814/16. Oral family history had his birthplace as Greenbush, Maine(he may have lived there - attempting to tie him into either the family of Ephraim Stephens/Stevens who was living in Greenbush in 1830 and then moved on to PA and IL, or a Samuel Stevens who married a Sarah Marsh in 1816 in Sunkhaze, now Milford, Maine,- very close to Greenbush), but a recently found death certificate of a son indicates it was Hudson(Kirkland in the early 1800s),Maine. He died Dec. 15, 1856 in Glenburn and is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Bangor, Maine. The 1850 Kirkland census lists him as the head of the household, his mother and father born in Maine, an Alice and Sylvia Mann residing with him, and his children: Edwan(12),Emily(11),Rufus(7),and Caroline (6). The Rufus Stevens, listed in the census, was b.July 20, 1841 and died June 12, 1927 in Old Town, Maine. These children were from a first marriage to Almira Lancanster, b. Glenburn, Maine. Amasa T Stevens' second marriage was to Judith Rowe b. Feb. 9, 1816 in Moscow, Maine, previously married to Rufus K. Jones. Judith d. Oct. 14, 1900 in Bangor, Maine. They had one child, Amasa Taylor Stevens b. July 1,1855 in Glenburn, d. Oct. 19, 1898. Amasa Taylor Stevens was my great grandfather.
