Dear Arlen and Joetha:
I have been meaning to post a message to you, as I saw an earlier message of yours concerning the names, Patton, Brown and Jewett, but just hadn't got around to it.
Anyway, one of the descendants of the Joseph Patten in my message was a grandson named Reuel C. Patten. The sheets I have say this Reuel married a Ruby Jane Brown Jewett born 1838. By her name is sounds like maybe Brown was her maiden name and that maybe at some point she was married to a Jewett before she married Reuel Patten. I looked further on www.familysearch.org and found that she was the daughter of an Ephraim and Mary Brown and was born in Corinna. It was interesting that your message mentioned "Ma Patton Jane Brown" on that picuture. Sounds possible that this could be the same woman and according to her birth year, "1838" she would be the right age to make it possible to be this Cyrus Brown's sister, but I have nothing to prove it. All I could find on your Cyrus K. Brown was that he was in the 1880 census with his wife and children in Lincoln, Grundy, Missouri, which I have a feeling you may already know.
The other curious thing is that you mentioned an Ephraim Jewett in your earlier message that you thought might be related. Since this Ruby Jane Brown Jewett's father is Ephraim Brown I wondered if this Ruby Jane Brown Jewett could have had a son with the Jewett she married and named him Ephraim after her father? I know this all sounds kind of far fetched and I have nothing definite to offer you. But it is interesting and seems like there must be a connection of some kind.
Let me know what you think.
