Dear Katheen:

Thanks again for looking. Yes I know about the Samuel from Bedford, NH whose son, Samuel is the one who went to Norridgewock and had a son, Joseph who married that Joanna Harlow (I don't know if he was a Captain). That Joseph also had a son named Joseph Lee Patten. Neither of those Josephs are the same as mine. I had thought so at first, but found that family web site on The person who has the web site is a Kenneth Patten Palmer. I found it by going to the and typing Joseph Patten and narrow search to Maine. It did list the children of that Samuel who came to Norridgewock, if you would like to see that. It was just too much for me to try and include in this message. I looked around on there for quite some time, but could not find a Joseph to match mine, so I am thinking he is probably in a different line of Pattens or else there is a line sprouting from there that is not known.
Anyway its been really interesting conversing with you and I appreciate all your effort.
