Eben Weston, b. 1803, wrote a series of memoirs about early Skowhegan, when it was still Canaan (Plantation), later Bloomfield. These were later published in a series of newspaper issues and deposited as a typescript in the Skowhegan Free Public Library by Levi W. Weston. In it Eben describes the old settlers as he and his family actually knew them. I made extra typescripts of the for the library, and will be glad to share information from the copy I preserved.
