A relative of the McIntire family sent me this quote from Robert Henry McIntyre, author of "Descendants of William McIntyre": "Little is known of the origin of Wm. McIntyre [spouse of Margaret Kirkpatrick]. It has long been believed that he was a Scot, that he had come from the North of Ireland and had settled in Boston about 1720."

I have pretty much what you do on William and Margaret; they married Dec. 30, 1730 in Boston, and had Joseph in Phippsburg, Maine, in 1733 (I have no record of other children for them). Joseph married Sarah Wallis, daughter of Samuel Wallis and Sarah Thomas, in 1756 and they had 8 children. I have spouses, dates of birth, and descendants on many of them, particularly their daughter Mehitable, who married into the Morse family.

My connection is through Joseph's son William, who married Margaret Spaulding and had a son named James, who married Lucinda Oliver, the sister of my great-great grandmother. Do you have any descendants for James and Lucinda? (In one location she is listed as marrying John Eli McIntire, but I think that James is the correct spouse.)

I would be happy to exchange information on this family with you. E-mail me.
