Piscatiquis County,DearBetty Is your surname
Mc Cowan Or Cowan,There were Cowans that
resided in LaGrange,MaineI know that some of them were spelling there names defferent ways
Cowen; Cowan;Cowing the last two given two brothers in the same family were using this same spelling,I've seen this record to,and wondered if they might have been an error,as I do belive their was a John Cowan?Cowing that lived in? in La Grange at one time, I really don't know anything about this Mc Cowan/? Cowing?I do know someone who's working on theCowan/Cowing Cowing line and they might like to correspond with you,if he is the one you want there would be one distingishing thing you would know about him and that would be his occupation. hope this helps. There is a genealogy of the two emmigrantJohn and Anthoney brother's that came to New England in the 1600's if you live in Piscatiquis County try (Bangor LiB)or Dexter Lib. does have one, your Emery sounds as though he may have come from Kittery;Maine: they also have Old Kittry ME,etc,by E>Stackpole. Edith happy hunting.
