Dear Betty: I don't know why it has taken me so long to find your message - I think it's winter and this room is too cold for me to do any serious genealogy.
Now, your Mitchells: There were many in Leeds, as you probably know and I would say some of them went to Carroll because of bad land deals in Leeds, along with my Lindseys. Daniel, b. 1784, was my ggg grandfather, who m.IN 1808, Jane GILBERT. Their 5th child was Julia Ann, b. 1815 Aug 25 and she was a maiden lady at the date according to the preface in HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF LEEDS, ANDROSCOGGIN COUNTY, ME - signed by Stinchfield in 1901.
So, J. Warren Mitchell, b. 1795 in Bath, m. a Julia Gilbert in 1820 in Leeds. I don't know the connectin to my Gilbert, but I'm sure there is one.
I would love to have the pictures of the Lindsey gravesites and would be happy to send postage money or perhaps pay for copies. Or, perhaps if you sent them I could make copies and return the originals.
