Question about Brownfield
Posted by: Kelly Wells Date: August 27, 2001 at 09:57:37

I hope this doesn't sound dumb but does Brownfield exist or is it now a historical town? According to my 2nd great grandfather's death certificate (Charles William Bickford) he was born in Brownfield, Maine to William and Dolly Bickford. I've checked out the US GenWeb site for Oxford County, Maine but there is no data for Brownfield like the other towns (besides listing that it is in Oxford County). Right now I'm waiting to get the census rolls I'm renting for Oxford County but otherwise does any one else have some advise on where to look for information about this area? As much as I would love to travel there myself (I live in CA) it's just not possible right now so I have to do my research long distance. Thanks for any input you can give me.

Kelly
