Hi, I'm from Canton Point, and I remember my dad pointing to a spot in Gilbetville where the 1 Catholic church had been, and burned. Rumford developed because of the big lumber mill fire that destroyed half of the neighborhood. Canton has a historical society. Please send me a note to Yahoo, and I'll send you Dad's phone number.
