Washington Heald, son of Benjamin F. and Rosilla (Monk) Heald, was b. 23 July 1867 [Buckfield VR]. He m. (1st) Ella M. Bessey, dau. of Alvin Sturtevant and Alfaretta (Turner) Bessey, b. 12 Sept. 1872; m. (2nd) Lydia Jennie Varney, dau. of Newell M. and Lydia C. (Bonney) Varney, b. 8 Jan. 1875 [Sumner VR]; no children.



Some information on Washington's line of descent follows:

Benjamin F. Heald, son of Washington and Eliza A. (Allen) Heald, was b. Sept. 1843 [Buckfield VR].

Washington Heald, son of Benjamin and Rebecca (Spaulding) Heald, was b. 23 July 1801 [Sumner VR]; d. 22 Mar. 1876. He m. 31 Mar. 1825 [Sumner VR] Eliza A. Allen, b. 19 Oct. 1803, d. 6 July 1893.

Benjamin Heald came to Sumner from Carlisle, Mass., about 1784. He was b. June 25, 1764 [Sumner VR]; d. 12 Oct. 1841 [Sumner VR]; m. 30 Apr. 1786 [Cumberland County (Me.) Marriage Returns] Rebecca Spaulding, dau. of Benjamin and Patty (Barrett) Spaulding, b. Nov. 1766 [Sumner VR], d. 10 June 1858 [Sumner VR]. They had eleven children, all recorded in Sumner.
