There are several cemeteries on Cousins, one or two are public and several are private and difficult to find. One public cemetery is right on the main road as you drive onto the Island - Cousins St.Hillcrest Cemetery is on the corner of Hillcrest and Cousins St.A few Drinkwaters are buried there.
The gravesite of Sumner and and Alice are located there, overlooking the Royal River. But many more Drinkwaters are buried in Old Ledge Cemetery in Yarmouth at the junction of Rte 88 and Gilman Road.If you follow Gilman Rd straight, you'll end up on Cousins Is, by the way.
If anyone is interested in the Drinkwaters of Cousins and Yarmouth, please contact me.I am a direct descendent of Jos/Jane Drinkwater > John & Susanna Brown Drinkwater > Perez and Keziah Gray Drinkwater > Perez Jr. and Sally Brown Drinkwater > John Hill and Helen Marr Drinkwater Hill etc.
