Vital records for the town are kept in the town Office.However they are not always complete or have been lost.You could write to the town Clerk of Machias.The Maine State Archives in Augusta have microfilms of the town records.You could try there but they usually don't do extensive research for people.MOCA is another source.(Maine Old Cemetery Association)They have compiled the headstones in most of the cemeterys and the books are in the Maine State Library in Augusta, Me.Unfortunately the best way to research these sources is to do it personally or find someone to do it for you.Harvey Moody
