Thomas Grover and Abigail Dinslow, Revisited
Posted by: Loretta-Marie Dimond (ID *****3928) Date: November 16, 2013 at 20:48:49

I am in search of primary source citations for the various Lincoln/Sagadahoc County Grover families. As grave sites are found, vital records are uncovered, and myths are busted, I am trusting less and less of what I thought I knew about these families.

In particular the Thomas Grovers pose a conundrum. There are two of them in the same jurisdiction at the same time; they were born a decade apart (1752 and 1762); sources claim that both of them were married to Abigail Dinslow; the births of known or suspected children to the couple vary wildly; the ongoing issues with the Bowdoin town hall fire records reconstruction continue to perplex.

So, answer the question for me: which Thomas Grover actually did marry Abigail Dinslow or Denslow [as recorded at Harpswell on 29 Jun 1780), the one born in 1752 or the one born in 1762?
