Hi there,

Looking for local area descendants of Florence Driscoll (1825 - 1907) and Catherine Healy (first wife) and Margaret Minihane (second wife) in the Auburn area. The family emigrated from Ireland in 1872 and are in the 1880 US census. Not sure I have the right 1900 census rec.

Known children:
(with Catherine H)
James 1856 - ?
Margaret 1859 - ?
Mary 1862 - 1898 She went to Dover NH.
Patrick 1865 - ?
Ellen (Nellie) 1867 - ?

(with Margaret M)
John 1871 - ?
Daniel 1872 - ?
Florence 1886? - 1907

Also looking for descendants of the younger brother of Florence, James (1835 - 191?), and wife Mary Minihane. Emigrated 1881 and settled in Lewiston.

known children:
Margaret 1861 - ? She went to Boston.
Pat 1863 - ?
Daniel 1865 - ?
Mary Anne 1868 - ?
Jeremiah 1870 - ?
John 1873 - ?
Ellen 1875 - ?
James 1878 - 1906
Johanna (Annie) 1880 - ?
Catherine 1887 - 1902

These people were from County Cork and I have much genealogical data on them.

Also, does anybody happen to know how Driscoll Island in the Androscoggin River got its name? Or Driscoll Brook?

Thanks a lot!
