This information is correct:

U.S. Veterans Gravesites, ca.1775-2006
Name: James J McGrath
Service Info.: CPL US ARMY SPANISH AMERICAN WAR
Birth Date: 1874
Death Date: 1928
Cemetery: Holy Family Cem
Cemetery Address: Essex, VT 05451

His middle name is Joseph and he was actually born in 1872 in Sherman Maine. He married Josephine Bettis in 1904 and they had several kids before she died in 1916. He re-married in 1918 to Emma Benoit and had a few more kids.

All this stuff I know. What I don't know much about is Jame's parents other than what is on one of his marriage certificates. Maybe they were passing through Maine on their way to VT and mom suddenly went into labor. Maybe they died in Maine and James went to VT on his own where he married Josephine. This is the stuff that I don't know and any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn
