This is from "The History of the Town of Industry, Franklin Co., Maine" by William Collins Hatch, page 620
Abigail Norcross Fish (daughter of Daniel Homestead Fish and Betsey Spencer), born in New Vineyard, Maine, June 14, 1839; married (pub. March 21, 1859) to Charles Wesson Gardiner, son of Allen and Rosana (Doyen) Gardiner, of NEw Vineyard. They had ten or eleven children.
Delilah Clark Fish (sister of Abigail, above) born in Industry, Jan. 29, 1843; married Feb. 19, 1861 to Allen Gardiner Jr., son of Allen and Rosana (Doyen) Gardiner of New Vineyard. He served as a private in Co. F, 24th Maine Regt. Infantry and died in New Vineyard, leaving one daughter, who married James Pinkham. She married for her second husband, Ichabod Norton, son of Ephraim and Jane West (Norton) Norton of New Vineyard.
You probably already know Allen Gardiner is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Farmington, Franklin Co., Maine. He died Jan. 23, 1875, age 61 years. There's a picture of his gravestone on findagrave.com
It's possible Allen's father might be Charles Gardiner. In the 1850 Census of New Vineyard, Franklin Co., Maine, Allen Gardiner, age 37, born Vermont, and wife Elzina, age 38, born Vermont, and their kids, live right next door to Charles Gardiner, age 66, born Mass. Since Allen's oldest son is named Charles, it might be he was named after Allen's father.
