I thought I would try again as I am still stuck on james Sherman, and on his tomb stone in Rockland cemetery McAdam N.B. it has james howard Sherman 1844-1908. family members say his birthdate was dec,15,1844

Then someone else doing research on same james Sherman has james bear Sherman born dec,15,1844 Bangor Maine

on the 1881 census for ST.James Charlotte county New Brunswick Canada it has
james Sherman male age 36 N.B. pres,Scotch Farmer married
sarah jane female age 27 N.B. pres scotch married
walter c Sherman age 7
howard valentine Sherman age 5
mary ann Sherman age 2

I can not find him on the 1871 census for New Brunswick Canada, I did find his wife sarah jane Douglas still living at home with her parents howard & mary ann Douglas on the 1871 census for ST.james, charlotte county N.B. Canada.

On the 1891 census it has james Sherman age 44 born 1847 religion free church, district 13,microfilm 30953-148101 Canada archives ,it also has sarah jane Douglas age 49
walter c Sherman age 18
howard valentine Sherman age 13
mary ann Sherman age 12
mable Sherman age 5
I can not remeber off hand the other children.
The 1891 census for st.james charlotte county new brunswick is confusing to me.

Thankyou all in advance

Heidi Russell
