Hi Carol
Thanks for the suggestion.
Right now Jonesport under water and strugging to get to surface with the massive Tibbetts collection they have been given.I don't have any idea of their plans but it may take years.
In that time and place there is just about a zero chance of an obit for almost anyone-few and far between.
Jonesport was a small town and two newspapers in the area didn't carry a death notice. There was a small newspaper that carried the local news of Jonesport but I am not sure it goes back quite that far-will check when I am back in the area next month.
Ephraim had been in the US Life-Saving Service a few years before and Egg Rock is not far from the station but no report in USLSS for his death in their records.
There is, in fact, no logical reason for his stone to be in Jonesport.
There is a very good chance(as in very, very good)his body was not recovered-thus no death record.
Are we having fun yet?
Thanks-John
