Looking for Goss / Sleeper / Smith / Herrick / Coombs in Maine/Mass
Hello all,
I am currently researching my family line and have come to a bit of a roadblock.I'm putting my feelers out there to see if anyone has some of the same or similar information that I do.I am currently looking for Gosses, Sleepers, Smiths, Commbs and Herricks out there to fill in some of the gaps in my family tree.
One of my GG Grandfathers was Lewis Goss who married Sarah Baker and had a few children; Willis E., Irving, and Albert W.Albert married Gertrude Sleeper, who's father was Nathaniel Sleeper.Nathaniel's other children were William H., Edith M. (who married a Smith and moved to Vancouver, B.C.) and Katherine.I do not have Nathaniel's wife's name, or any birth or death dates. My information comes from the Lisbon town Census of 1905.
Mostly all of the names listed above are localised in the lower Androscoggin County area, but I am under the impression that there is some connection to the Herrick line that emmigrated to the colonies in the mid-17th Century, and settled in the Gloucster area.
Also, I am looking for my Great-Grandparents, Alfred and Helena Belle (Coombs) Smith. They were alos located in the Lisbon-Webster-Lewiston area in the late-19th/early-20th Cent.
I understand that the Androscoggin Historical Society would be a good place to research, but my work schedule prohibits me from getting there during their hours of operation.Any info would be greatly appreciated.
