I had looked ahead at this and it seems you are going to have to do a lot of work to sort it out. Looks like there are name changes and marriages everywhere in this line. (That might explain the path to jail) If I were a betting person I would say your James (Junior)is the one in 1860 Bangor, Penobscot Co, ME this way: Isaac J. Corbett 39 Mariner b.ME Martha E 23 b. ME James M. 5 b.ME Octavia 3 b.ME Arcadine? 1 b.ME By 1870 "Isaac" appears in Richmond, ME this way James Corbett 39 Sailor (obviously the age is wrong on the 1860, 1870 or both) Hannah E 19 (second wife?) James M. 15 Octavia A 13 Avia A.E. 11 1880 has a James Corbett 49 Sailor living in Gardiner with Lizzie 25 (maybe the same person as Hannah E if the E was for Elizabeth or yet another wife?) Willie E 2 son The 1850 census of Brunswick had this Isaac which I think is the same Isaac/James. Note he has a sister Octavia. Might be why he named a daughter Octavia. James R. Corbett 51 Sailor b.ME Jane 49 b.ME Isaac 25 b.ME Sailor Octavia 16 b.ME You will have to sort out why the age never seems to agree. Isaac's sister Octavia married a Jordan, had at least one son and then probably died young (her husband and son are living with her parents in 1870). I don't know what became of Isaac/James' daughters Octavia and Arca/Avia. James R. Corbett born c1799 is supposedly James Rogers Corbett, son of Isaac Corbett and Hannah Rogers. Hannah Rogers is mentioned in this Rogers link: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/o/g/Doug-Eugene-Rogers/index.html Hannah L. Corbett died at Brunswick, ME c1847 age 71 yrs Good luck with this line. Notify Administrator about this message?
