"Mr. Hazen Noyes of Atkinson met with a severe accident on Wednesday last (July 20th) while loading a cart with hay. He had nearly completed his load, when in moving backward, he made a false step upon one of the stakes of the cart, which entered his body some 10 to 12 inches. He suffered great agony till Thursday morning when death relieved him."
