Mrs. Herbert H. Hovey
Milo, Oct. 10--The death of Mrs. Iva Hovey, 62, wife of Herbert H. Hovey occurred suddenly Saturday morning at 3 o'clock, following a paralytic shock Friday, preceded by a long period of poor health.
Mrs. Hovey was the daughter of the late Willis and Jennie Brown Lancaster of Lagrange. She married Herbert H. Hovey 42 years ago and had been a resident of Milo for many years. She was the mother of nine children, six of whom with her husband survive to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother.
The surviving children are George E. Hovey of Milo, Mrs. Dorothy Walsh of Bucksport, Lloyd M. Hovey of Catskill, N.Y., Mrs. Erva Harriman, Earl and Paul Hovey of Milo. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Addie Sawyer of Sebeois and five brothers, Levi Lancaster of Old Town, Willis Lancaster of Brownville, Reuben and Earl Lancaster of Milo and Harold Lancaster of Lincoln, nieces and nephews and other relatives. In her younger days, Mrs. Hovey was active in several orders and attended the United Baptist Church and meetings of the C.G. class. During later years and being in poor health her chief interest was in her home and family where she will be greatly missed.
