I browsed through the 1930 census for Canton and the last name for the Loretta living with Mary Reed looks to me like Blanchard. I also found a marriage record in the Maine Marriages 1892-1996 section of Ancestry.com for Beatrice Reed of Canton and Joseph Chadbourne of East Livermore on Nov. 1, 1908. The 1910 census which shows James and Beatrice Chadbourne and their 4 year old daughter also shows that they have been married for 2 years. This would indicate to me that Beatrice had that daughter out of wedlock or at least before her marriage to James or Joseph Chadbourne.
I also have some personal knowledge of the Canton area and I know there is a connection between the Reed, Rose, and Allanach families but I couldn't find anything else in the records I searched to tie your Alice to any of them. What was your Dad's name?
