Hello Alice

In a marriage this early it's likely there is no marriage certificate (if it had existed at all it would have been given to the couple). There should be a record in the Vital Records of Litchfield. It may be just the names of both parties or it may include the name of their parents.

Maine Town Clerks are usually super helpful so I would contact the Litchfield clerk. If you can't find the name then e-mail me. oj62@tds.net
