Working back in time:
In the 1900 Census of Portland, ME:
Silas B. Harmon- b. Oct. 1833-age 65-self and parents b. ME. Married 23 years- Packer/Pedler
Elizabeth A.- wife- b. July 1854-age 46-self and parents b. England. 3 children born, 3 living. Came to US in 1875.
Benjamin F.-son- b. Sept 1878- age 21-b. ME-Blacksmith
Silas B.-son-b. Apr 1885- age 15-b. ME
Florence-daughter- b. Aug 1890- age 9-b. ME
In 1880- the family was in Portland- only Benjamin born, and living with them was Silas's mother, Priscilla Harmon- age 80-widow- self and parents b. ME
In 1870 Silas age 36, and his mother, age 70, were living in 4th Ward, Portland.
Benjamin Carl Harmon married Priscilla Hanscom(b)on Nov 6 1823 in Scarborough, Cumberland. Intention filed 25 Aug 1823.
I could not find the family in ME in the 1850 census.
In the Town records of Scarborough, the following births were filed- parents Benj. and Priscilla
Sally Ann Harmon-b. 31 Oct 1824
John Gardner Harmon- 11 May 1830
Under Buxton, York Cty- listed in the Temple records of the LDS:
Silas Burbank Harmon-b. 20 Oct 1833
Walter Berry Harmon-b. 20 Oct 1833.
It is possible that Benjamin died before 1850, and Priscillaand the children went to live with a Harmon relative and is therefore hard to find.
Benjamin Carl Harmon was born 14 November 1795 in Scarborough, to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Burbank) Harmon. He had brothers Silas, b. 2 Apr 1789, and Rufus, b. Aug 1798- all born Scarborough.
