Kathy-
What may make your connection is the 1850 census of Lewiston- there you will find Nathan R. Turner as an 11 year old living with his parents- Samuel and Olive Turner. At this time Samuel was a Farmerbut there are other Turners in Lewiston who were Blacksmiths and Harness Makers.
Nathan has 7 siblings listed.
In the Maine State Archives index-
Nathan R. Turner m. Lamantha( must be misprint)P. Tuttle on Feb.18,1861. He was from Lewiston and she was from Athens.
Me. State Archives roll 1, vol 1, page 193
In the 1850 census for Athens I found Samantha age 10( I think- terrible writing)with her family Hayes?and Esther Tuttle and 8 siblings.
I also saw 2 of her brothers in the Maine State Archives index-
Herman Tuttle m. Mary Corson - June 28, 1855 in Penobscot County- both of Hartland( south of Athens) MSA roll 3, vol 3, page 33
Alfred Tuttle m. Aurelia Thern- Oct 11, 1856 in Androscoggin County- he of Athens, she of Lewiston-MSA rol 1, vol 1, page 113
You can have the copies of these pages- just e-mail me your land mail address-
