I have a large etching signed in pencil on the back and lower right front by artist, Carlton T. Chapman, 1860 - 1925.
I think the artist had Chapman relatives in Bremen, Maine, and spent quite a bit of time in Bremen. This scene appears to be a rural scene (Chapman was actually better known for his seascapes in oil) and it appears to be of rural Bremen. (This is just my guess!)
A point of interest in this etching is - in the distance - a white church with a white steeple. Perhaps someone reading this may have knowledge of this work. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of Mr. Chapman's work. Thanks. Fran in SC
