I'm looking for information on Charles HIGGINS born circa 1848. On the 1870 Census, he's listed as living in Augusta, Kennebec, Maine with his wife Celemnea (born in Maine circa 1853) and their 2 month old daughter, Hattie. In the 1880 Census, I find S. Heath Higgins, a widow, living with 5 year old Charles in Illinois with the Heath family. Forgive me if I'm explaining too much, but I'm sure this widow is the same Celemnea, as her parents' names, Mercy and Simeon, are unusual enough, and I can trace Celemnea/Solemna/S as being with Mercy and Simeon both prior to and after this 1870 Census. I cannot, however, find any marriage information on Charles and Celemnea/Solemna. I cannot find information on Charles and/or Hattie's deaths. Any assistance - even if you can just point me at the right source - would be appreciated. I've turned Ancestry.com upside down, I think, and I searched the Kennebec marriage records prior to 1892 as they are listed online. I've got information on "a" Charles Higgins that I can take back several hundred years - but I need to know it's the right Charles Higgins. Thank you.
