I have long suspected that Bennet Wood (died 1816)was the father of:

Mary/Polly b.1772 married 1789 Ralph Doyal
Joseph b.1775 married 1800 Abigail Doe
Richard b.1777 married 1805 Sally Richardson
Bennet b.1781 married 1806 Lois Durgen
Sarah b.1783 married 1800 Pelatiah Soule
Obediah b.1785 married 1811 Julia Delano
Ralph b.1787 married 1813 Hannah Delano
Stephen b.1788/89 married 1806 Mary Cowen
Butler b.1793 married 1816 Sally Gaslin

Bennet "Woods" likely is the one who died 1816 (vital records of Winslow)

If you look at the last page of the births from the VR of Winslow births you will see most of the children listed there under the "no last name" section. I suspect that the page they were on in the original ledger was damaged and the last name wasn't legible.

Ralph Wood also named a son Bennet Wood (b.1815/16).

Someone once told me that Bennet Wood (the one who died 1816) was born in MA and had been a soldier at Ft Halifax. None of us has ever discovered his wife's name or his exact origins. There were some Bennet Woods in MA, but I can't find any that left there for ME in the 1700s.
