some added notes:

Vital records of Winslow ME has:

Dexter, Nathan Jr, son of Nathan and Esther, b.Aug 22 1772, in Falmouth, Plymouth Co, MA

Looks like the family moved to ME c1773-1776 because there are eight children of this couple listed in the book from 1765-1785. The last one listed b. Falmouth was 1772 and the first listed in ME is one born 1776 Pownalborough. www.familysearch.org says Esther's maiden name was Robinson. This fits nicely with the fact that one of their sons was named Robinson Dexter b.1770 Falmouth, MA.

www.familysearch.org says Nathan Jr married Lucy Burrill 25 Mar 1795 Vassalboro, ME

1820 census has this couple (Nathan & Lucy) in China Me. There were two males and one female age 0-9. Maybe your Benjamin was one of them.

1840 cenus has Nathan & Lucy in Dedham, Me. They have a male in the home in his 20s (your Benjamin???) and a female in the home in her 20s. next door is their son Thomas Burrill Dexter also in his 20s. these could be the three that were age 0-9 on the 1820 census.
