John Nowland, early settler in Hallowell.

Does anyone have any information on one of the early settlers of Hallowell, Maine, a John Nowland? Is the Thomas Knowlen, another possible spelling, one of the early settlers of Corinth/Levant area near Bangor, the son of the aforementioned John Nowland.

1790 census has John Nowland in Hallowell, 1800 in Augusta. Lose him after that.

1810 census, Thomas Knowlen is in Milo, Maine and in 1820, Passadumkeag, Maine. Thomas Knowlen died in 1828.
