Bartlett, Castine, Maine, 1820s

In 1829 William H. Bartlett and Charles K. Tilden both made payments to the estate of William Whitcher, mariner, deceased (age abt 23). Tilden was a wealthy merchant and shipowner from Castine, Maine. The court papers say Bartlett was also from Castine but I have not found any references to him there. Was Bartlett a merchant partner of Tilden? Was he a sea captain? Maybe a shipmate of Whitcher? Any help will be appreciated.
