Hello Todd, your info seems to make more sense than what I have found regarding Rose's parents. I've just started looking and haven't verified anything yet. I do know there were Kane family members on my grandfathers side. My mother siad that Rose had relatives in Surry, Nell and Les Kane and she thought Nell was my grandfather's half sister. There was also a young woman nameed Lillian Collins who she thought was Nell's daughter. For some reason my grandfather wouldn't discuss his family.
This is from the Ellsworth American, DECEMBER 13, 1888: Marriages, Surry, Nov. 1, by Rev. C. J. F. Thompson, Mr. STEPHEN R. COLLINS of Eden and Mrs. ROSE LUCKINS of Surry.
