The Picton Press CD, Dedham, Maine: Original Records of Maine Towns and Cities gives a birthdate for Benjamin Ward Dexter of December 16, 1816 and states that he was born in China(Page 13 of 425)."Vital Records of Lee, Maine" compiled by Kay Stevens Crocker, Picton Press, Rockport, ME 2005 gives the same information on page 23. Neither source gives his parents.
"Vital Records of Lee, Maine" also has information on the Daniel Trueworthy family:
Trueworthy, Daniel moved into town June, 1840
Trueworthy, Daniel born November 27, 1790
Trueworthy, Hannah, wife of said Daniel born August 22,178?
Trueworthy, Jeremiah, a son born September 13th, 1820
Trueworthy, Hezekiah, a son born June 13th, 1822
Trueworthy, William, a son born March 7th, 1825
Trueworthy, Phebe, a daughter born January 31, 1827
Trueworthy, Thomas, a son born January 29th, 1829
However on page 70, Daniel's birthdate is given as Nov. 27th, 1797 and death date as Nov. 7, 1876.
"Old Hancock County Families" by William Macbeth Pierce, Hancock County Publishing Company, 1933 has a genealogy of the early Treworgy family of Ellsworth (p.30) and a supplement (p.125) by Ida A. (Trueworthy) Hayford of Atlantic, Mass. on later generations. She says Daniel (Nov. 27,1797-Dec.7, 1876)was the son of Daniel Trueworthy(Feb. 25, 1764-Nov. 22, 1840) and his wife Polly Fletcher (no dates given). She adds that Daniel, the son, married in 1819 Hannah Clark, who was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Jan. 24, 1793 and died Nov. 5, 1849. Daniel married secondly, in 1858, Mary D. Royal, who was born in 1800 and died in Bangor March 29, 1891.
Ms. Hayford's sources are not listed.
There are discrepancies, but I hope this has been of some help.
