PURINGTON, Farmington State Normal Sch.

I've got a photo of the class of 1899 from Farmington State Normal School (later Farmington State Teachers College, and now University of Maine - Farmington; Franklin Co.). With the students is George C. PURINGTON, Principal. I also have several letters from George to my grandmother regarding admission to the school and subsequent job placement. (My grandmother was Ruth Gertrude (Jones) Greene of South Paris, ME. Before her marriage to Edward L. Greene in 1901, she taught in South Paris, Poland, and New Gloucester schools.)

Any descendants of George, or anyone interested in Famington / FSTC history, who would like scanned copies of the photos or letters please contact me. I'll trade for information about George's life and career.

- Stan
