Barbara, I can't believe I never thanked you for your reply. My Maine father died on Dec. 29, 2000. And for several months before and after, I've not had any time for genealogy. You've given me some guidelines I didn't know or think about. Thank you. The town clerk of Smithfield has been of help, but I haven't been able to connect any of the Taylors to my Clarks-Lincolns-Fotters-Williamsons. I hope to make a trip from Ky. to Me. in early June. Maybe I'll have some luck then. Again, Thanks. Alice
