Hi Nancy , this is my brick wall.Ha ! Ha! but it's not funny ... Anyone got any Ideas ? I find my great grandfather on two Canadian census , which between the two list his wife children and family. I can find only this family ...I can find no parents for him listed , nor can I account for the first 39 or forty years of his life . The only thing I do know is, he said on the census record he came to the provience in 1840. Being born in 1801- died 1862 listed as born in three state on census Me.(Childen list him thusly) VT. and N.H. on the Canadian so I'm told I have never see them .. The U.M. research mention in the Little Falls postings did not say, this was from a cousin.. The family doesn't know rather he was buried in Canada where he died or rather his body was shipped back to the U.S.A. Nor do we know anything of his oldest son A Benjamin probably a Jr. nor a William. We know who his son James has and any source of info that I've been able to find on him comes up 0 . I know about where they settled in Canada that it was in or around what became Edmudston.... If you put in Little falls .. in the window on your left side of screen maine page it will bring up info I have posted... or #252, # 253 # 299 # #312 #251 # 266 # 250. Do you have axcess to the Patten, Maine vital records I would dearly love to see those records. Anything !!!! at this point would be a help. Edith. The children were born about ever 2year apart, Helen was 18 , see marriage to Civil war Robert Wassan on the, forum. Benjamin , Francis William Margaret, Thomas,Sarah and Louise born about two years apart from 1843. Edith
