I am researching my Dow line.

My great great grandfather was James Henry Dow born 24 August 1839 in New Brunswick. His parents were Annie Gallagher and Henry Dow.

Henry is mentioned in the Book of Dow but not his parents. All that is said is (I'm typing this from memory): "Dow of Perham known by the 2nd marriage of a son, Henry m. Ann Gallagher". I don't know anything about Henry yet. Anne married James McNeal in 1842 and they later moved to Caribou.

I know Perham is 7 miles northwest of Presque Isle but I don't know anything of its history.

Henry and Annie had one other child: Nancy Agnes Dow born 1837. Nancy married Thomas Walton.
