Ann Sorry to be such a pain in the neck. Several years ago I found a FGS that included Lemuel as a member of my IN family. That was back in time when Joseph's name was cast differenlty. In 1998 I attended the 90th birthday of Paul, his grandson who at that time was living with his daughter in Columbus, MT. I mentioned I had found his grandfather. He responded advising me that his grandfather was known by a different name. I did not argue the point as I knew we had such a line in the family coming from the VA side who m. John. Joseph served in the Indiana Volunteer Infantry as a LT in a unit whose Captain was Joseph's brother. The commander was concerned with performance issues during the Battle of Bull Run. The nature of the problem was not recorded in Joseph's Military record but may have involved family members that remained loyal to the South.
A family line in Maryland seems to tie our branch of the family to Barney. I have additional but personal information that I would like to share with you that may explain the relationship betweeen our two families. If you are interested please conact me via e-mail.
