Hi,
My g-g-grandfather was John Dashield of Wicomico Co. He lived in Baltimore with his family Nancy Reed Dashield and children William H, Eliza A, Margaret and Ann M. In the same house with them for a time were the family of (Levin or Levering) Dashields and his wife Charlotte Winsen Dashields. They had children Susan C and William W.
Living nearby, and I assume related, was a Henry Dashields family.
John was born app 1814 in what became Wicomico Co. I found this from the death record of his son William H Dashields. Nancy was born app 1811. Their daughter Ann M was my g-grandmother. She married James Knox Polk Kirby in Baltimore.
The name changes are causing problems. On all records there is a clear distinction between Dashield and his family, who apparently added an "s". Because of his tie to Wicomico and his name it is obvious this family is part of the larger Dashiell family.
My problem is this...does anyone have a record of this family? I am looking for the name of John Dashield's father and am seeking how the family connects to the larger Dashiell group.
