Strangely enough, the forum I checked just before this forum was the one for Stewart County, Tenn., where you had also left a message concerning the Webb family and as I read it I was wondering if the Webb family of Stewart County had any connection to the Webb family of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, as many of the families who settled in the Stewart County area of Tennessee came from the Maryland famlies which had moved south to Anson County, North Carolina in the mid-1700's. Here I get to the Talbot County forum and I find a query by you too!
If recollection serves me, there was an article that appeared in the Maryland Genealogical Society Journal in the 1980's which concerned the Clothier-Kemp-Webb families of the Eastern Shore. The article was principally about the Clothier line, but I believe the article also had a section of the Webb connection (Edmund Webb) of the 1600's.
Also, I believe that Robert Barnes and/or Edward Wright in their series of books titled Families of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, or something similar to that, had a chapter on the Webb family as well that you might find helpful.
