Dear Virginia,

There are some postings I made to the Trail Genforum recently which you could read in regard to the question if Rachel Wofford is the wife of James Trail, Sr.. and my thoeory how she got from Talbot to Prince George Co. or whatever it was called then (near Rockville/Gaithersburg) about 1740. Responses by George Trail bring out that the William Woffords, relatives of Rachel of Talbot Co., lived close to the Trails. The Trail children intermarried with Wests, (Millars were already relatives, most likely), Lees, Fryars, Buxtons, Merchants, McCoys, Northcroft, Nichols, Howe, Ford, Cybert In the first couple of generations. Also some wives we don't know the last name of, so more Woffords may also be among them.

Their spreading out to new frontiers took them to:
North Carolina for a short period
Amherst Co., VA, & Franklin Co., VA,
Spartanburg, SC, later to Northern MD,
Sumner County, Tennessee

Have a look at the Trail forum.
