I am wondering if your James Atwood may have had a son or brother named George?? I believe my ancestor may have been a brother of James' second wife, Ann Jenkins. John Jenkins appears in Hardin County KY early 1800's, living near a George Atwood. George Atwood may have been widowed when he married Mary Bryan(sp), widow of Ignatius Bryan, who died in 1803.
