Higgs and Clark St. Mary's Co., MD

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have run across a Clark-Zachariah Higgs connection in St. Mary's Co., MD.

Charles Sothoron Clark, son of Leonard and Mary Sothoron Clark, migrated to Granville Co., NC. I am of the belief that hs
brother, Leonard did also. Charles and Leonard were in St. Mary's County in 1768 when they were found on a leased farm.
Their father Leonard Clark Sr. had leased the farm from John Higgs in 1742. I believe this John Higgs to be the father of
Zachariah Higgs.

Granville Co., NC Court Minutes
Aug 1786 Deed from John Duncan to Leonard Clark for 150 acres proved by Zach Higgs. p. 24

May 1789, Ambrose Barker vs. Leonard Clark w/ Z. Higgs as witness; also Jno. Higgs, wit. p. 154
(Was this John Higgs a brother of Zachariah or his father?)

This Zachariah Higgs was the son of John Higgs, and had a number of children of which two interest me. He named one son
Southern or Sothoron Higgs, and another Leonard Clark Higgs. Leonard Clark Higgs was born in Md and possibly St. Mary's Co.
Sept 13, 1756. ( I did find this family in St. Mary's Co. and on the INTERNET.

Since two of his children were named after known Clark members, either for the parents or the brothers, I am of the believe that
there might have been a marriage somewhere in the past and of course before 1756.

I believe Leonard and Charles Sothoron Clark had a sister, born abt 1738. Leonard was born abt 1740 and Charles was born abt
1742. Could this sister be the wife of Zachariah Higgs? Zachariah was born abt 1735 in prob. St. Mary's Co., MD. In my notes,
he was married to an Elizabeth Kenelm. That marriage probably took place in St. Mary's Co. Could this be a second marriage
for Elizabeth?

It just seems strange that Zachariah would name two of his children known Clark names, Leonard and Sothoron, and not be
related to them.

Your thoughts?

Sincerely,

Jim Clark

PS I did find out the ages of Leonard and Charles Sothoron Clark.

It seems that the birth date for Leonard in 1740 is correct. "Catholic Families of Southern MD", Timothy J. O'Rourke, Catholics
listed in Manorial Rent Rolls, St. Mary's Co, MD Manor of Chaptico, St. Mary's Co., Jan 1768 Lot # 8, leased 29 Sep 1742 by
Leonard Clarke, 266 acres, from John HIGGS, tenant in possession, annual rent 1-10-6, alienation fine, fines due 6-20. On what
lives or term of years, now held: Charles Sotheron Clarke & Leonard Clarke, sons of the lessee. Ages of the persons mentioned
in the lease & other remarks: Charles 26, Leonard 28
