Thank you Carrol for your response. I have seen information posted that Henry M. Dellinger, born 1822 had the middle name of "Martin", but this is incorrect. Perhaps someone assumed at some point and placed "Martin" as the middle name, I thought the same thing until I was able to verify that the Henry born in Williamsport, MD in 1822 to Jacob Dellinger and Sarah, was indeed Henry "Miles" Dellinger. He married a "Ball" in Wash. DC and is buried in The Congressional graveyard there. His obituary states the middle name as "Miles". I confirmed it was the proper Henry Dellinger through his nieces, listed in his obituary. He also made claim in 1862 to a slave that he acquired from his mother Sarah Dellinger, widow of Jacob Dellinger. This Dellinger maintained the pattern of using the spouse's family name as middle name of one of the sons in their families, so I am pretty certain that Jacob's wife born 1782-83 was Sarah Miles, and her Father was Charles on the 1800 census of Wash. County. 2 of his daughters were in the right age range for Sarah, per the census, he also had 3 sons. Don't know where they went. Per a later census, as wife of Jacob, she stated that she was born in Maryland.
