Morning:
The Stocketts, like many of the families from around the 1500's to 1700's have many different researchers. And none of them really agree on anything. I've tried to put together the family in a sensible way, but have no way of proving my choices of dates are right or who belongs to who as being right.
First of all, I goofed on this Lewis' DOB. He supposedly was born about 1622, not 1634. He had 3 brothers, Thomas, Henry and Francis and all of them show up in Maryland about 1658 from England. According to what I've pulled together I have the parents are being Thomas Stockett b. 1595 and married to Frances Ayleworth b. 1597.
As I've stated, the only thing I have been able to find on this Lewis was that he was appointed Commander-in-chief of Maryland during the Seneca Wars. No one has him married or having children or anything other than that. That is why I was asking if anyone WAS researching this particular line.
Thank you for any input.
Roberta
