Abstracts of Land Records of Anne Arundel Co., MD: John BURRIDG, AA, with consent of Margaret, deeded for valuable consideration to John WILSON, 13/14 Nov. 1665, 100 acres near Herring Creek.

Hon. Thos. TENCH, Esq. requested rerecording of land formerly belonging to John BURRAGE, decd., & now the right of his daughter Grace, who m. Benj. SCRIVENER, also decd.
James HEATH, AA, Gent., purchased Burreges, Burridges Blossom, & Burrage End {sic} and requests the court to summon Mrs. Elizabeth HUTCHINS of Calvert Co., widow, to show if she has interest in same, which descended to her from her father John BURRAGE, decd.

Thomas TENCH, AA, Esq., to Jas. HEATH, last of Feb. 1704. John BURRAGE had laid out, 20 Mar. 1662, "Burrage" & "Burrage Blossom." On 6 Nov. 1665, John BURRAGE had laid out "Burrages End." In 1665, he sold part to John WILSON & in 1668 to John WELSH. John BURRAGE died intestate, leaving three daughters: Elizabeth, who m. Francis HUTCHINS; Margerett, who m1. Nathan SMITH & 2. the said Thomas TENCH; & Grace, who m. Benjamin SCRIVENER. Nathan SMITH & Margerett left one daughter, Elizabeth, who m. James RIGBY, both decd., leaving one son Nathan. Francis & Elizabeth HUTCHINS conveyed to Dutton LANE, son of Samuel LANE. Dutton & wf. Pretiosa LANE and Benj. & Grace SCRIVENER all conveyed to Thomas TENCH.

Samuel LANE, Anne Arundel Co., made 18 Jan. 1681, date of proof not given. To sons Samuel & Dutton at 18, "Browsley Hall." To dau. Sarah. To nephew Thomas LANE in Ireland. To dau. Grace BURRIDGE. Wife Margaret, exx. Overseers sons-in-law Saml. {Nathl.?} SMITH & Francis HUTCHINS. Wit. Arthur BROWNE, Jno. DAVIS, Jno. HALL, Thos. MERIDAD.

Nathan SMITH, Anne Arundel Co., 15 Apr. 1684, 1 Sep. 1684. To wf. Margaret, exx., "Smith's Delight" for life, then to son Thomas, who was also to receive part of "Dan" & "Jerico." To youngest son Nathan at 21, land inherited by wf. Margaret as heir of John BURIDGE, also "Lord's Bounty." If sons dsp,, to nephews Nathan & Joseph, sons of brother Thomas SMITH. Overseers brother Thomas, son Thomas, Richard JOHNS, Wm. RICHARDSON, Richd. HARRISON. Wit. Benj. SCHRIVENER, Jno ELSEY, Margaret TOOGOOD, Susanna RUDFEARNE.

Richard TIDINGS, Anne Arundel Co., made his will 2 Feb. 1687, date of proof not listed. To son John at 21, "Haslenut Ridge." If he dsp, to eldest dau. Charity, second dau. Eliza, third dau. Pretitia, and fourth dau. Mary; daus. to be of age at 16. To daus. Charity & Eliza, 300 acres in Balto. Co. To daus. Pretitia and Mary, "New Years" on Gunpowder River. To dau. Charity, personalty belonging to decd. wf. No ex. named. Overseers Solomon SPARROW, Jno. BELT, Jno. JORDAINE. Wit. Eliza. CHESELL, Eliza. BUTLER, Charity {Charles?} CHESELL, & Jno. ELSEY.

Robert BARNES' Balto. Co. Families, 1659 -1759: Samuel LANE (ca. 1628 - 1682) m. 167_, Margaret, widow of John BURRIDGE, and Margaret m3. Job EVANS. Margaret was a sister of Francis MAULDIN & a daughter of Grace who m1. MAULDIN, 2. Wm. PARKER, & 3. Edward LLOYD. Intestate proceedings show that John BURRAGE had wf. Margaret & dau. Elizabeth, wf/o Francis HUTCHIN[G]S. Will of Samuel LANE, made 18 Jan. 1681, named sons Samuel & Dutton, dau. Sarah, nephew Thomas LANE, dau. Grace BURRIDGE, & sons-in-law Samuel {Nathan[iel]?} SMITH & Francis HUTCHINS [James L. KENDALL, Lane Notes at MD Historical Society].

Dutton LANE was b. ca. 16[72] & left a will, made 1716, pr. 8 Oct. 1726. He m. ca. 1693, Preti{o}tia TYDINGS, b. ca. 1676, dau/o Richard. Dutton's will named wf. Pretiosa, exx., sons Dutton, Richard, and Samuel to have "Lane's Triangle" & daus. Margaret & Sarah, to have "Hampton Court."

Balto. Co., MD, Deed Abstracts:

On 2 Oct. 1685, Geo. THOMPSON of St. Mary's Co. conveyed 375 acres, "Nanjemoy" to Richard TYDINGS of Anne Arundel Co. [RM:HS:164]. On 25 June 1719, Robert CRUMP & wf Eliza of Queen Anne Co. conveyed half of same to Philip THOMAS. On 27 Dec. 1726, Michael & wf. Charity PASQUINET of Bath Co., NC, dau. & devisee of Richard TYDINGS, gave power of attorney to cousin John BELT; on 12 Feb. 1727, they conveyed to John BELT, Jr., by their atty. John BELT, Sr. On 12 Dec. 1750, Charity SELLMAN, dau/o Richard TYDINGS of AA, conveyed to Thomas HARRISON [TR:DS:107].

"New Year's Purchase" was patented to Richard TYDINGS 25 Feb. 1684. Richard TYDINGS bequeathed to daus. Pretiosa who m. Dutton LANE, & she sold to Thomas HOOKER & Richard GUEST / GIST. GIST then sold to Philip DOWELL, who had m. Mary TYDINGS. They sold to sons John & Luke. John with consent of wf. Susanna, & Luke, with consent of wf. Ann, conveyed 4 Apr. 1747 to Alex. LAWSON [MPL:25:34 & 31:521 RM:HS:634 TR:A: 436 IS:G:68 TB:E:522].

John TYDINGS & Mary had Cassandra, bpt. 26 Oct. 1718.

John TYDINGS & Ann had Richard, b. 4 Dec. 1754; Elizabeth, b. 17 July 1758; John, 9 Mar. 1761; Ann, 26 Mar. 1764; & Margaret, 2 Sep. 1766.
Ann (22 July 1731, bu. 3 Oct. 1767) wf/o John TYDINGS.

Richard TYDINGS & Sophia had dau Mary, b. 5 Feb. 1756; son Keilah Lewis, b. 27 Jan. 1758; son Keilah, b. 12 Aug. 1759.

Fardinando TYDINGS & Ann had Susanna, 10 Dec. 1762.

John TYDINGS & Mary had Fardinando, 5 Aug. 1769; Wm., 2 Sep. 1770; Priscilla, 22 Mar. 1773; & Mary Ann, 21 Apr. 1776.

At St. James, Philip DOWELL m. 11 June 1702, Mary TYDINGS.
