I have a little mystery I am working on and would like to get some ideas from people who have more genealogical experience than I do. I seeking information on a man named Thomas Healey, who, I believe but am not certain, was the first patient in a pioneering surgery in 1937. This is what I know. Thomas Healey was born around 1894 in Barrow in Furness England. His parents were William and Jane Healey of Barrow. He apparently had one sister. Margaret, and possibly a brother named George. He immigrated to the US, to Maryland in 1922. He reported to immigration officials that he intended to live with an uncle named G. Healey of 31, S. Ellwood Ave, Baltimore, Md. He was married; wife Agnes, but I have no evidence of any children. He passed away in 1939. I wish to find evidence that Thomas Healey is indeed, or at least there is a strong likelihood, the patient in question. I know the following facts about the first patient. His name was Healey (I have no first name), He was the same age as Thomas Healey. He passed away on or near the same date as Thomas Healey. I know the illness that caused his death (unrelated to the surgery). I have a copy of a photograph of the first patient. Ideally, I would like to find a living relative who might remember stories of a relative named Thomas who immigrated to the US and died there in 1939. A relative, who, I hope, might have letters or even a photograph that I could compare to mine. I have been unsuccessful at locating any descendants in the US, but have found clues that make me think there could be some. As there apparently were one and perhaps more siblings, it seems that it might be possible that there are living descendants in the Barrow area. Anyone have any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?
