I am looking for information on a Thomas Sinclair, born in Maryland in 1772 and a Thomas Claire living in Virginia in 1790 to see if they are one and the same person. My second great-grandfather Ezekiel Clere is traceable to 1800 Virginia via the 1850 Census, but no further by this surname (Clere.)I am told that the name may have been SINCLAIR, but I have found no evidence of that. Any data would be helpful and much appreciated. Larry Clere
