Hi -
My name is Chris Smithson, I am currently the Membership Development Chair for the Hereditary Order of the Signers of the Bush Declaration.
The Bush Declaration was signed in Harford County, Maryland on March 22, 1775. One of the signers was a John Patrick.
The problem is that there are three John Patrick's who were residing in Harford County at the time of the signing of the Bush Declaration.
What we are trying to do is to identify which John Patrick signed the Bush Declaration.
There are several that have been looked at:
1. John Patrick (d. 1805 in Harford Co., MD) m. Elizabeth Cummings
2. John Patrick (d. 1783 in Harford Co., MD with a will and mentions a brother James
3. John J. Patrick mentioned in Dr. Lee Wellington Patrick's book as being born in 1736 and dying in Harford County in 1805
4. John Patrick with a wife Sarah in Harford County Land Records in 1809.
Once the correct one is identified the society is also open to his direct descendants as well as descendants from his siblings and aunts and uncles both paternal and maternal sides back to his grandparents or to the 2nd degree of kinship.
Also, does Dr. Lee Wellington Patrick's book address the descendants of John Patrick son of Robert Patrick (b. 1705).
